Celebrating International Women’s Day: 20 Years of Empowerment at Charlotte’s Web Jewellery

As I sit and reflect on the past 20 years of Charlotte’s Web Jewellery, I’m filled with gratitude, pride, and so much admiration for the incredible women who have been part of this journey. This year, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, I wanted to take a moment to share the story of our all-female team and how we’ve worked together to create something truly special.

When I founded the company two decades ago, I never imagined how much it would grow and evolve. But one thing has always remained the same, and that's the incredible women who make everything possible.

Me, Charlotte – The Designer and Visionary

Of course, I’ll start with myself! As the founder, director, and owner, I’ve been involved in every aspect of the business, from designing the jewellery to sourcing gemstones and materials to working with talented artisans in India. It’s my passion to create pieces that not only look beautiful but also hold meaning. I’m incredibly lucky to have had the chance to bring my vision to life over the years, but none of it would have been possible without the amazing women who support and inspire me every day. Charlotte's Web started at festivals and stands selling clothing as well as jewellery 20 years ago now, and over the years, the brand has evolved massively into what it is today.

Sue – The Woman Who Shaped Me

Before I introduce the rest of the team, there’s one woman I have to mention first—my mum, Sue. From the very start, she’s been by my side, helping in nearly every aspect of the business. Whether it was supporting me through the ups and downs, offering her advice and wisdom, or getting hands-on with the daily running of things, she’s been an integral part of Charlotte’s Web Jewellery. More than that, though, she’s shaped who I am as a woman, a business owner, and a designer. Her strength, kindness, and determination have always inspired me, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her as both my mother and my mentor.

Nicola – The Sales Manager Who Keeps Everything Running

Next up is Nicola, our sales manager. She’s been absolutely crucial to the business, managing wholesale accounts, analysing sales data, and driving business development. Nicola has a unique ability to build and nurture relationships, both within the business and with our customers. Her attention to detail and commitment to the brand keep everything running smoothly. Honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without her!

Sam – The Marketing Guru Behind Our Voice

When it comes to getting our name out there, Sam is the one who ensures we’re seen. As our marketing manager, she’s responsible for creating and executing multi-platform marketing strategies that capture the essence of our brand. From photography to PR, emails, social media, and ads, Sam is the driving force behind keeping Charlotte’s Web Jewellery in the public eye.

Lisa – The E-Commerce Operations Genius

If you’ve ever had a smooth shopping experience with us online, that’s all thanks to Lisa. As our e-commerce operations manager, Lisa has been with us from the very beginning, and she knows the business inside and out. She ensures our online platforms run like clockwork, managing everything from graphic design to backend operations. Without her, we wouldn’t have the seamless online presence we’re so proud of today. Lisa is the heart of our digital operations, and we’re so lucky to have her on the team.

Hannah – The Customer Service and Social Media Queen

Hannah is another key member of our team who holds everything together. As the customer service and social media manager, she manages our customer enquiries, creates email campaigns, and oversees all our social media channels. Hannah’s warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care for our customers make her an invaluable part of the team. She’s also incredibly creative and plays a huge role in keeping our community engaged and connected to the brand.

Kay – The One Who Gets Your Orders to You

Finally, there’s Kay, who is the magic behind getting your orders packed and sent out to you. Kay is the person who ensures every piece of jewellery reaches its new home safely, and she does it with care and efficiency. If you’ve ever received your jewellery and felt that little bit of excitement when you open the box, Kay is the one who made that possible.

Looking back on the last 20 years, I feel incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved as a team. Each of these women brings something special to Charlotte’s Web Jewellery, and it’s their hard work, creativity, and passion that keeps the business thriving. This International Women’s Day, I want to celebrate them—because they’re not just part of the team; they are the heart and soul of Charlotte’s Web Jewellery. I also would like to take a moment to thank every woman who has played a part in building the brand over the past 20 years - Emma, Caroline, Elodie, Erin, Amy, Michalina and Tiffany to name a few! Here's to women supporting women!
