We really hope you enjoy your beautiful, handmade Charlotte's Web goods. Here are a few handy hints to help you keep them in their best condition!
All Charlotte's Web jewellery is handmade with sterling silver, brass & the highest quality gemstones, being natural products they must be cared for in the following ways.
• Silver tarnish in air, particularly in hot & humid weather. Polish with a silver polishing cloth & for tricky to polish or heavier discolouration use a silver dip.
• Try to avoid contact with cleaning products, chlorinated or salt water.
• Protect your jewellery from scratching & tangling by storing each piece separately in a soft jewellery roll.
Brass is made from a combination of zinc and copper, and tarnishes easily when exposed to the air.
To keep your jewellery looking new and shiny follow these tips:
You can buy brass cleaners but we recommend the following:
- Firstly don’t wear your jewellery when cleaning or showering as this will accelerate the tarnishing.
Ketchup or Worcester Sauce: Squirt some ketchup or Worcester sauce on a clean cloth and rub over tarnished brass. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth and buff dry.
Soap or Mild Detergent: If your brass item is dirty rather than tarnished, submerging it in warm soapy water and cleaning with a soft cloth could do the trick. Use a toothbrush to gently scrub extra dirty areas.
Lemon Juice: Straight lemon juice can be used to clean brass and bring back shine. After cleaning with lemon juice, wipe with damp cloth and buff dry.
- Be careful using these methods if your item contains gemstones or other metal
Please note: All Charlotte's Web earrings have sterling silver backs/posts therefore contain no nickel and are allergy free.
Each season at Charlotte's Web we aim to bring you unusual, vibrant, distinct colours & prints which give Charlotte's Web clothing collections their unique & individual style.
Most of Charlotte's Web clothes are made from printed Indian cottons or 100% pure silk recycled saris, we also have some chiffons, rayons and satins. We also have recently introduced Moss Crepe to our range, this materia is manufactured by using finest quality cotton, polyester and hard spun silk yarn, it has a smooth, silky texture and is colourfast aswell.
To keep your clothes in the best possible condition & to avoid colour transfer or fading we recommend that you wash our clothes separately in a cool handwash or a cool machine wash using a gentle detergent & leave to dry unless we have otherwise stated in an item's product detail. It is not recommended to spot clean stains.
Cottons, Rayons and Moss Crepe can be washed in a gentle washing machine cycle, separately at a cool temperature - however we recommend hand washing as this keeps the colours looking brighter for longer.
Charlotte's Web scarves come in lots of beautiful & vibrant colours, to keep them that way, by avoiding colour transfer & fading we recommend that you hand wash them separately in cool water, using a gentle detergent & leave to dry.
